John Thomas — Senior Vice President of Pacific Northwest Region and Executive Officer of Pacific Northwest Region at Vizient, Inc

Mr. John H. Thomas serves as a Senior Vice President of Pacific Northwest Region and Executive Officer of Pacific Northwest Region at VHA Inc. Prior to his current position, Mr. Thomas directed the VHA Pacific Network, which focused on supply chain improvement and clinical/quality improvement, and other economic initiatives. He also served as the executive director for the Cascade Health Network, a regional group purchasing organization that was comprised of seven health systems located in Washington State, operating 39 hospitals, with more than 10,000 licensed acute care beds. Mr. Thomas is a health care executive with 25 years of management, consulting and operational experience. He has led the development and implementation of strategies to create new businesses and business lines, revitalized underperforming business units and created vertical and horizontal integration in healthcare markets. His experience also includes executive positions in integrated delivery networks, home care organizations, dental management/HMO organizations, home and ambulatory care consulting firms and health care manufacturing. Mr. Thomas's areas of expertise include: business development for-profit healthcare startups, organizational positioning, marketing and public relations, operation and financial management, strategic supply chain management and strategic contracting development. Mr. Thomas holds a bachelor's degree in political science from University of Washington, located in Seattle. He attended the master's in business administration program at California State University, Fresno. He is active in the American College of Healthcare Executives and the Healthcare Financial Management Association.
