direct manager is making my job difficult but otherwise good

Thus far, my employment at Volvo has been rewarding. Adjusting to the corporate culture "politics" will be ongoing, I am sure. What I look forward to is now being part of the team whose task is to effect positive change with our retailer partners. I am proud to say, "I work for Volvo."

Mostly = good. There are some challenges which are being communicated and addressed.

My direct leadership are phenomenal! They care about our work life balance. They are very good with communicating and being transparent.

For the most part they are good people.

They make you feel like one of them and not a lower level employee

The EMT at VCUSA and Global seem approachable and appear to lead by example, even when not in the spotlight.

flexible work schedule. Great work balance between remote and in office life.

Salary is not up to date with the cost of living. The company policy has changed regarding being in office which caused more unexpected expenses.

Even factoring in the generous benefits, I accepted a substantial pay cut because I wanted to be a Volvo employee. I knew my salary would be lower than my contract pay, but thought it would be at least 10K higher than it is, based on my expertise and established Volvo retailer relationships.

My direct team is very helpful and wonderful to work with.

Collaboration. We are all dealing with a difficult management situation together.

The best thing about my team: We are passionate about the Volvo brand! Also, some of us have known each other and have worked together for as many as 20 years. There is a tremendous amount of empathy and trust already established which allows us to tackle our biggest challenge: elevating CX!

Our core group is Amazing!

The managers make you feel valued. The negative thing is other teams watching when people come to the office and leave.

That for the most part people are there to contribute and help one another.

The most positive aspect is how welcoming everyone is to the "newbies." I appreciate the variety of work that my job requires me to do and the types of people with whom my job requires me to collaborate. Lastly is the flexibility to work from home, office, or retailer!

open to feedback and ideas

When there are multiple complaints about a manager in place, something should be done about it. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt coming in, but they are near impossible to collaborate with and do not create a good work environment.

The interaction with people and the ability to instill Volvo vehicle knowledge at the retailer level.

I work for Volvo, the best brand in the automotive industry and perhaps the world!
