WMP has been an eye-opener wrt the consulting industry. It truly hasn't hanged at all in 30 years, which is woefully unfortunate. While companies continue to pay top dollar for consulting, most of the consultants are kids, with little experience in what they are consulting in.
What did you like most about the interview process?
Met everyone I was going to be actually working with.
What are some of the best things about your team?
Supportive, intelligent and inclusive- when they are actually in the office, and not on the road, mentoring takes place, and its great.
What makes you most happy at work?
Doing what I was hired to do, instead of Project Management, or PowerPoint. I'm a developer, coder, architect, and innovator by trade.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
They truly try to do their best for the company and its employees. Though don't always succeed in breaking away from the "startup" mentality from an operations and benefits point of view.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
Tenured management fails to think outside the box often enough, as they seem to feel threatened by new ideas. Hearing "we've been successful for a long time doing things this way" is not uncommon when new or more modern ideas are presented...particularly around compensation.
