Ms. Julie P. Whalen has been the Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President of Williams-Sonoma Inc. since July 27, 2012. Ms. Whalen oversees all global financial departments including controllership, corporate financial planning and analysis, tax, treasury, investor relations, risk management and internal audit and also has shared accountability of the brand finance functions. She served as Acting Chief Financial Officer of Williams-Sonoma Inc. since March 6, 2012 and Senior Vice President since 2006 until July 27, 2012, Treasurer since 2011 until 2014 and Corporate Controller from 2003 to 2012. Ms. Whalen joined Williams-Sonoma in 2001 as a Leader in the Corporate Financial Planning organization and has since progressed through positions of increasing responsibility, including Vice President since 2003. She has over 19 years of financial experience and a track record of driving financial success in a global retail environment across multiple brands and channels. She began her career in public accounting with KPMG Peat Marwick. Ms. Whalen is a Certified Public Accountant and holds both a B.S. and a Law degree from Pepperdine University.
