Jayanthi Iyengar — Chief Innovation & Technology Officer and Senior Vice President at Xylem

Ms. Jayanthi Iyengar, also known as Jay, has been Chief Innovation & Technology Officer and Senior Vice President of Xylem Inc. since June 12, 2015. Ms. Iyengar leads Xylem's global R&D, technology and innovation activities. She joined Xylem from Eaton Corporation, a global power management company, where she most recently served as Group Vice President, Engineering and Technology for its Aerospace Group and Chief Technology Officer. In that role, she forged strategic relationships with external constituencies to develop and align Eaton's technology portfolio with customers' current and future needs. She also led the global engineering organization charged with the complete product life cycle. Previously, she held a series of increasingly responsible leadership roles over her 15 years at Chrysler Group, including Global Director, Electrified Powertrain and Senior Manager and Chief Engineer, Hybrid Development Center. She has also served on the board of the IEEE Vehicular Technology Society. Ms. Iyengar earned a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Mysore University in Karnataka, India and two Master's degrees in mechanical engineering, one from Indian Institute of Technology in Mumbai and the other from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan.
