Only been here a short time but so far its great!

I've been happier as I've worked there longer and figured out how to navigate its particular idiosyncrasies. I think I've finally found a path towards the career growth I'd like within Niantic. And the folks I work with are pretty awesome.

Tiring and draining, the other developers are inundated with bugs that can't be fixed due to not having a good enough customer service

A great creative company and culture that encourages collaboration and contribution. Poor leadership leaves teams pushing buggy work, incomplete features, or never shipping. Company leadership will often make heavy handed decisions that undermine ICs who work on titles full time.

They seem to genuinely care

A nice blend between responsive and laid back. Work life balance is as important as technical excellence and growth. This is a company with a very balanced perspective.

I think their large vision is something I can get behind. Their attempts at more transparency are appreciated though I think it's still not as transparent as it needs to be.

I like the optimism ELT has

The leadership team is very transparent and sticks to commitments.

I wish we could be more transparent about upcoming projects/R&D work. Some of it has to be private and I understand that, but I would like a deeper view into what's going on.

The equity is fair and i have a lot of hope for it.

My stock benefits are pretty good. Everything else is pretty standard.

Reasonable stock option for starter.

Benefits are amazing for a company this size

Comparable to top of the field compensation package.

Me and colleagues all report feeling we are paid below market value and subject to game industry crunch. There is huge gaps in compensation between mid level and senior level employees.

Compared to similar offers that I have seen from other companies, my Niantic offer was lower. I negotiated up a bit in my offer but its still lower than other companies in the area (Microsoft, Google, Snapchat, etc)

The company needs to review compensation more frequently so consistent high performers are recognized appropriately.

We need to build smaller, more focused teams. Right now, my team has about 15 different projects and none of them are very cohesive. I would prefer if we could categorize, prioritize, and split into smaller teams to get a tighter feedback loop.

We're definitely experiencing some growing pains, but I think documentation and software-enforced processes would make the gears interlock more cleanly.

We have a pretty good culture in terms of supporting each other. We try to help get our teammates unblocked in their work. This may be particular to my own team and the teams I interact with since I brought a lot of changes to how we collaborate to the organization when I joined.

The culture is all about Games, Fitness, Being Out in the World, Inclusion of all people, and much more. There is always a group of like minded people around.

Felt like I was getting a good opportunity to get to know the team and folks I'd eventually be working with day to day. The team was much smaller at the time though.

My interview process allowed me to meet most of the team that I would be working with. I was asked a series of code theory questions (as opposed to algorithms/traditional "can you code" questions). I enjoyed this a lot more than just coding and being judged on style/syntax.

The projects are interesting and challenging. Given the room and space to demonstrate leadership.

Not having too many meetings meaning I can focus on my work.

Working and learning along with really smart and brilliant people in the industry.
