Niantic Environment Employee Reviews

What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?

We have a pretty good culture in terms of supporting each other. We try to help get our teammates unblocked in their work. This may be particular to my own team and the teams I interact with since I brought a lot of changes to how we collaborate to the organization when I joined.

Company is sympathetic to many political issues and at the ELT level deeply cares about creating a positive impact on the world through our games

Flat, positive and diverse culture.

Our Diversity and Inclusion commitment, our ERG's the community within the larger community.

The culture is all about Games, Fitness, Being Out in the World, Inclusion of all people, and much more. There is always a group of like minded people around.

Inclusive and caring. Amazing office space.

Review from Engineering Dept

People really love our product and want to make it the best it can be. We play our own games constantly and we take very seriously our own mission of getting people outside to explore.

Love to hear this :)

Overall a very friendly, smart bunch of people who are driven and want to surf the leading edge of technology, culture, gaming and narrative. A rare collective with lots of positive energy.

The company cares about mental health, for the players as well as employees. We have social events internally and communal lunches in the office. Most everyone is friendly and happy to chat.

Response from Niantic

Thank you for sharing!

We are managing so far to keep sharing information and collaborate well despite the fact that we're growing and work in a number of globally-dispersed offices.

Very supportive and accepting atmosphere, super-transparent leadership.

Review from Engineering Dept

I have found that transparency and autonomy are the most positive aspects of working here.

Due to the flat structure, managers are busy and entrust you with a lot of freedom to do what you think is best for the product. I love that I've been able to pick up tasks I'm competent at that don't quite fall into my job description, like recruiting, and get recognized for them all the same.

We enjoy the work we do, and we make our office enjoyable to work in.

Review from Engineering Dept

At Niantic, the culture fosters people being able to be themselves.

Review from Engineering Dept

I like the friday events every other week- not a fan that the first 80% of it are shout outs and the last 20% is where the real interesting company developments are- wish hit was the other way around. It's a really cool way to make employees feel involved

What needs to change to make the company culture better?
