What do you like best about the leadership team?
They seem to genuinely care
A nice blend between responsive and laid back. Work life balance is as important as technical excellence and growth. This is a company with a very balanced perspective.
I think their large vision is something I can get behind. Their attempts at more transparency are appreciated though I think it's still not as transparent as it needs to be.
I like the optimism ELT has

What is the best part about your compensation package?
The equity is fair and i have a lot of hope for it.

My stock benefits are pretty good. Everything else is pretty standard.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
Me and colleagues all report feeling we are paid below market value and subject to game industry crunch. There is huge gaps in compensation between mid level and senior level employees.
Compared to similar offers that I have seen from other companies, my Niantic offer was lower. I negotiated up a bit in my offer but its still lower than other companies in the area (Microsoft, Google, Snapchat, etc)

What are some of the best things about your team?
A very strong and competent team. Ambitious.
We have a very good collaborative attitude and it's been nice to expand that beyond my team in recent months.
My team is full of smart people who are great to work with, no ego and no gate keeping.

What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better?
Not talking to me would be a start. Maybe speak to their customers
More excitement for what we're working on and wanting to help others and themselves get better to make cooler products
We need to build smaller, more focused teams. Right now, my team has about 15 different projects and none of them are very cohesive. I would prefer if we could categorize, prioritize, and split into smaller teams to get a tighter feedback loop.

What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
We have a pretty good culture in terms of supporting each other. We try to help get our teammates unblocked in their work. This may be particular to my own team and the teams I interact with since I brought a lot of changes to how we collaborate to the organization when I joined.
Company is sympathetic to many political issues and at the ELT level deeply cares about creating a positive impact on the world through our games

What did you like most about the interview process?
Felt like I was getting a good opportunity to get to know the team and folks I'd eventually be working with day to day. The team was much smaller at the time though.
The transparency of the recruiter and regular check-ins during every stage of the interview.

My recruiter was the sweetest and most thoughtful person in the world
My interview process allowed me to meet most of the team that I would be working with. I was asked a series of code theory questions (as opposed to algorithms/traditional "can you code" questions). I enjoyed this a lot more than just coding and being judged on style/syntax.

I like that they're trailblazing AR technologies which is going to be the future of tech once things like apple glasses and headsets replace our phones
