How common are layoffs at Uptake?

They laid off 10 people without calling it a layoof just a week ago.
Somewhat common. Uptake ended a handful of internships that were intended to convert to full-time roles. They framed this as "ending internships" rather than what they truly were, LAYOFFS.

The benefit of it being chaotic & having no leadership is that every day is an adventure.
Working with smart energetic people who care.
I don't feel valued or empowered to improve the company. If anything, I am strongly discouraged from trying to improve anything here

It’s great! The people are really nice. It can be tough to get fully up to speed but folks do the best they can.

Leading. Place is a bit of a circus.
Cooperate with people as opposed to dictating at people. Many joined Uptake to get away from the red tape and the barriers, not enforce them

Everyone seems to care about each other and the products they are building.
Actually listen to one another and respect everyone's ideas and opinions. Accept that not everyone knows everything, and help where you can

Good Chaos?!
Remind ourselves that there don't need to be barriers between managers and employees, and to not assume people are mean or stupid
