
The focus on sustainability is great. Evonik was one of the few companies that didn't cut 401k matching during Covid or reduce salary, which was nice.

Smaller sites have a more family oriented environment where it seems like people are genuinely interested in helping each other. I don't get that impression from larger sites where it seems like it is more cut-throat and competitive.

Recognizing employee talent and paying accordingly. Pay is lower than industry peers and there is no clear career progression path for engineers, especially for smaller sites. Artificial caps on promotions and top performers encourage employees to leave the company

Adjusting compensation to match actual market rates for the area. Evaluating existing roles to ensure current job responsibilities match the job title and the market rate for that title. Real raises that aren't just barely keeping pace with inflation.

Increase headcount to help reduce the workload of overloaded employees. Smaller sites are left to fend for themselves and have to hire outside contractors to get the help needed as headcount is frozen or permanently reduced when employees leave.
