Overall, I it has been a good experience. Smith has experienced rapid growth and has shared some of it with its employees in a way that has been remarkably generous. Time will tell if this same generosity grows or dwindles as the company grows and changes. The temptation of profit is ever present.

We all work well together to reach the company's goals. There is a level of comradery and genuine care for neighbor that is not seen in many other institutions.

I spoke to this earlier the genuineness of care is on full display amongst the people I work with. There is a lax yet focused quality, where neither excess of seriousness or being nonchalant is balanced perfectly.

A large part of it is due to the effects of rapid inflation on the value of our money; it just doesn't cover as much as it use to. It would take either a drastic decrease in inflation and interest rates on loans, or annual increases in compensation the match or exceed the rate of inflation.
