Stock options aren't offered to every employee equally, even though Corporate advertises as such. The health insurance is great, however; it feels unfair to exclude certain departments from getting stock options for unknown reasons.

It is a very laid-back and chill atmosphere. Need a break because you just need one? Take it. Hour long paid lunch breaks? Yep. Company get-togethers happen frequently (picnics, BBQs, roller derbies, etc.) and there's no guilt/pressure for having a two hour party at work.
Corporate isn't this mysterious entity that just passes things down the line– they're involved all the way down to the minor details. I work in the warehouse and have the opportunity to talk with the founder about my ideas and input. They know all the employees' names and work with all of us.
The freedom I have as an employee and the trust the company puts into me. They trust us to be honest and to work hard, which means that strict rules and procedures aren't needed. Cotopaxi is focused on making sure we work as a team and love what we do- not on writing up employees for menial things.
