Service consultants are left to clean up the mess and mishaps of things not on their control. Engineering should be held accountable for tickets that are months old and in some cases should also be client facing to say "we will not work on this ticket at this time" or explain what the hold up is.
Admitted by my manager I make up a huge portion of the strides my team makes and it is very noticeable when I am OOO. I am very grateful for having a job, especially in this climate however, I have NEVER been recognized or compensated for it outside of a "youre doing a great job" in a 1 on 1
