I love Nextdoor it is an amazing company with value driven people. But the pace and trying to keep up with our CEO is impossible. She is super human but forgets the rest of us are just mortals, we cant keep up not without more resources.
Briefly describe your overall experience at your company
I love Nextdoor, what we do and what we stand for, however the company often will limit resources and over extended expectations. This leads to long work days, and burn out. The company does not find ways to help employees recharge.
What is the best part about your compensation package?
monetary compensation and equity in the company.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
They are for the most part very approachable.

There is nothing worth mentioning. Nextdoor's package is fairly basic if not cheap.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
Community engagement. Volunteering. The expectation that we should be interacting as people with our communities and not just working 24/7.
What makes you most happy at work?
Hearing the stories of how people across the world leverage Nextdoor to strengthen their local communities. To build friendships and to give back.
What are some of the best things about your team?
Everyone is truly here to support a common cause and there are very few egos. We are all in this together without finger pointing and blaming. That being said we are VERY recourse constrained and it is becoming hard to continue at this pace for much longer.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
They are living by example. This is not a do as a say not as a do type company. Sarah and the rest of the exec team in a time of crisis would be there with their buckets throwing water out of the boat with all the rest of us.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
I enjoy reading our HQ posts now. It use to be a wasteland but now HQ has become the place that I go to in the middle of my day for some joy and happiness when things are stressful. It is the true best of what Nextdoor should be everywhere. A community supporting each other.
What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
We are doing too much with too few resources. It is ok to have that be the pace for a little while but I am now at the 2.5 year mark and feel hopeless this will change. I love this company but cry all the time from stress and anxiety I tell my manager and nothing changes.
