The managers make or break the team. RDM makes or breaks the DM and you have to pay for the mistakes of every one that comes before you. There is no grace. Everyone is stressed out. That trickles down to the crew who also get yelled at daily for lack of repairs and price increases. Don't have tools
What do you like best about the leadership team?
My Manager has given me hope but she is not the usual DM. She's taken a great personal interest in her team and their individual development. She has single handedly created repor and confidnece in her team.
What are some of the best things about your team?
The team we have NOW is amazing. They are growing in ability and WANT to learn. But the DM had to fire almost half when she took over because they didn't do the work. Its taken a lot to make sure everyone is carrying their own load
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
All we hear is how we need to improve. It's disheartening. There is little to no room for positivity because we are cleaning up the mess left behind by other DMs and coworkers who didn't care. Its causing some bickering because we are all tired. Poor staffing choices due to low wages doesnt help.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
We can't keep people if they don't have an apartment. It's a lot of development wasted. Constant turn over. It's next to impossible to staff locations that have a higher rate of pay then we do in certain areas. That creates a lot of work for the ones running 3 properties at a time. Not paid A prop $
What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
I used to love my job. I had pride in my locations. Lately I have been disheartened because NO ONE else is doing things at my level. Even those that have been here for years. I come back after a weekend to find my numbers dropping and all my hard work gone to waste. And I'm in trouble its MY store.
