How secure do you feel at your job at Chickasaw?
The Chickasaw Nation is a family and I have been with them for many years. They have been good to me and in turn I have been loyal to them. I feel very secure in my job.
How can I improve my chances of being hired at Chickasaw?
Honestly, you either have to be an equally qualified Chickasaw applicant or be an overwhelmingly more qualified applicant. Much of it comes down to the candidate pool. All things being equal, Chickasaw citizens and people supporting Chickasaw families will win out over other applicants.
How's the work life balance at Chickasaw?
Good. Chickasaw Nation respects and appreciates family. It is like one big family itself.

Vacation/sick. No PTO. Starts at 2 weeks vacation and increases with years in service. Pretty typical. No cash out option. Use it or lose it with limited rollover.

It's very traditional and conservative. For example, the standard dress code is shirt and tie for men and a jacket is encouraged. Some of the processes and procedures are a little antiquated, but it's getting better.

The biggest is free health insurance for the employee and a good rate for any family members. Also, 401k match up to 5% (not unusual) with 100% vestment very soon. I think it's after the first year. One of the best benefits is knowing that I support a noble and worthwhile mission, not just lining the pockets of some wealthy shareholders.
