The company is in a steep decline. Would not be surprised if they go bankrupt in 3-5 years. It is a small miracle that they can still find customers dumb enough to buy their low quality, overpriced adhesives.

How difficult is it to maintain a social life while in your job at 3M?
Pretty hard with hours we work but we manage
It is very difficult to maintain a social life while in a job at 3M.

People that are willing to do anything to get somewhere.
Those who do what is expected of from 3M by abiding by rules and regulations they have.
What unique perks and benefits does 3M provide?
Medical insurance is great but I feel we shouldn't have to pay deduables

How's the feedback proccess at 3M?
I think it's it's good
Not great. Managers are generally well intentioned, but ultimately the 3M culture and process don’t change.
What are some of the best things about your team at 3M?
People are very respectful toward each other.
Every idea could be the right one.
What does the leadership team at 3M need to get better at?
Accountability. They preach safety, yet do nothing when my lockout was removed from a machine by someone else.

Extremely competitive salary, with additional variable pay based upon division performance.
I believe the family benefits are some of the best around.

No real difference. 3M is very generous with leave.

Limited options, price drastically increase annually, though hyper inflated programs to reduce premiums are a ploy, you get gouged on your paycheck.

Have to be a top performer to achieve promotions

Vacation and sick time no PTO per say

Business casual, except at certain Plant locations where specific attire is required for safety rules.

Don't work for 3M they don't care about their employees and their time of their family on the weekends they just expect you to work
How does 3M measure success and growth in the Sales department?
Not very well the last four years they have not had accurate sales numbers Wraps or judged on arbitrary KPI‘s which have little to do with their actual sales
What skills do you need to be successful in the Sales department at 3M?
No need to be a skilled seller, because they expect you to sell the entire product line. Reps are not an experts, you just need to know how to open up the catalog or use google to be good.
How are layoffs handled in the Sales department at 3M?
Not very well I have been sued numerous times in the past for age discrimination.
How are the career growth opportunities on the Sales team at 3M?
Not too many unless you want to manage. They have a quasi-marketing program that sales reps can move into
What are the most important soft skills I need to be successful at 3M?
You need to play your part and not color outside the lines. If you play the game they will pass you on.
What's the internship program like at 3M?
The sales internship program called Frontline is truly state of the art and very sought after by students around the U.S. who specialize in sales, marketing or sales analytics
How would you compare interviewing at 3M to other places you've interviewed?
Too long and repetitive. Each group asked basically the same batch of questions, just worded differently.
