What should I wear for an interview at 3M?
Depends on what your interviewing for. Business casual is the norm at most locations. (Look up images online)
Depends on the position. Clean casual for hourly; relaxed business attire for salary

What benefits does 3M provide?
Health, dental, 401K, HCRA and DCRA, vacation and sick time. Long term & Short term disability, FMLA.
They used to be much better five years ago
Health insurance and 401k for hourly workers. Stock options, better insurance, profit/quarterly bonuses and more vacation time for salary workers.
How do I do well in an interview at 3M?

I met with sales and marketing team
Met with 9 separate people in 3 groups of 3. Ranging from shift supervisors to HR manager to plant manager.

How long do the interviews usually take at 3M?
About an hour for each session, 3 total.

30 min if you can get one they usually have a person picked for the job before they start the interview. Our HR Dept is run a buddy system and. A Matrix that no one knows but the people who they choose before the interview. A little hint you should take these online classes it'll make you qualified for this job.

How much and how often do raises happen at 3M?
2% cost of living raises every year
When we get raises every year but they don't offset the health care costs that rise above the raise amount. We haven't got a good offset to health care cost raise since 1987

Not good it's the way they hire people now

Don't really know him well enough
They think highly of the CEO, and they can improve on treating their workers better than they do.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation at 3M?

I am overworked and under-appreciated. I work 11 to 12 hours every day, yet a lot of other employees work far lees and even sleep on the job
My work load has gone up about 60% and my compensation is going down. Hire more workers and pay us what we used make for overtime.
To be treated fairly and not have to come to work and be harassed

What are your coworkers at 3M like?
Unhappy because we're always working
Most are nice people who are scared to do anything to lose their job
Some are lazy some listen some don't have common sense
What's the Product team like at 3M?
They don't have common since
Depends some areas it's great with people working as a team. Lots of levels of people doing nothing other that a Kaisan here and there to justify there job.
They seem to try hard.
What part of 3M's business is growing fastest? What part is having difficulties?
Signing is booming really no business in my plant is doing bad
Manufacturing we have old equipment that can't keep up with manufacturing goals. Sometimes you have to spend money to make money.
I do not know which is growing the fastest, but I do know they have a high turnover.
What's the best part of your job at 3M?
Doing my job because it's very easy but very hard working with the people that y'all giee now no common sense make my job harder
The satisfaction that your boss knows that he needs you because you're the best at your job.
Being able to come to work and do my job.
What are the team outings like at 3M?
Don't know because always working when they have them
It's about been so long since we've had one it's hard to remember. I think it's very sad every time we have an event no matter if it's a Christmas dinner or a company picnic we have to pay like $5 or $10 it's ridiculous

I know my job well no challenge in it I love the job
I'm not I have a good job and they leave me alone.

How do you feel about going to work at 3M everyday?
Going to do the job I feel good but the new people they will listen I've been in that dept for years don't look forward working with them
I feel like I have a lot more to offer and I'm just burning hours of my life
I don't feel that comfortable about coming to work for 3M everyday.
How can I improve my chances of being hired at 3M?
Attendant s needs to be excellent
Get some Factor experience and have a great attendance record.
I don't know how to improve one's chances for being hired.
What's the office layout like at 3M?
I guess alright
It's really nice they just gutted the whole office and spent$250,000 on it instead of giving the people on the floor raises
The office layout is ok, but could use more renovations.
How's the morale at 3M?
Not good it's changed for the worse management fault don't have good management
I would say there's a lot of disgruntled employees who expect a lot more from management
The morale is well as could be expected, but could use some improvement.
What's one thing you wish you'd known before joining 3M?
It was not bad when I got hired loved to come to just in about 2008 started the down hill trend
That the pay was as low as it is.
I wish I had known what to expect from them.
If you could make changes, how would you improve the culture at 3M?
Get rid of the “yes” man company managers and hire authentic people that can think for themselves while helping the company grow.
Get better management
I think I would invite cultures they normally don't allow to work there.
How secure do you feel at your job at 3M?
Very secure because I have good atendance
I feel really good about it I'm not worried if they caught my job I would just go somewhere else with all my experience it would be fine.
If you're capable, you have nothing to worry about but that's because you should always be improving yourself. If you don't always fear a little for losing your job, you aren't challenged enough or have become complacent - in which case someone better can certainly fill your role.
