If you could make changes, how would you improve the culture at Envoy?
Can't think of anything! Great culture.
Tighter teamwork between product and engineering teams.
More code pairing, better systems for communication remotely ( google hangouts is currently used and craps out a lot )
What's one thing you wish you'd known before joining Envoy?
How messed the Union is and how American likes to walk all over regional.
The change of managerial structures that were taking place

we hired a wonderful HR leader who is currently establishing theses processes
Quickly and well. Our HR staff is small but growing. Issues are generally handled in an efficient manner.

How helpful was your Engineering team when you were first hired at Envoy?
8 out of 10. The team was much smaller so finding answers was a bit tricky due to everyone being fairly busy. The engineering team has grown three-fold since I started so now it is much more efficient.

How would you describe your overall experience interviewing at Envoy?

I had a responsive and fast (in my opinion) interviewing process. My interviewing process took around 3 weeks between first email contact and offer. There was a bit of a gap in the process due to a national holiday which was understandable. Everyone involved was very friendly and focused on assessing good mutual fit.
How do I do well in an interview at Envoy?
Be honest and open, understand that we understand that every engineer is different and has different experiences.
Be sure to talk about something (outside of work) that you're passionate about. We like to see smart people, but we also want to bring on new employees with high emotional intelligence as well.
How long do the interviews usually take at Envoy?
1 hour each, around 4 interviews

What do people at Envoy think about the CEO? What do they do well and what can they improve?
They love him. He keeps us informed and always wants to hear what we have to say.
The CEO is very open with his employees and keeps us informed on all aspects of the company. He could improve by getting to know the remote techs a little better. I have only met him once and not talked since then.
What part of Envoy's business is growing fastest? What part is having difficulties?
The employee size is growing quickly. Difficulty is providing enough space for everyone but a new office is coming soon!
Product line is growing, finding good engineers is difficult
