Mr. Jeffrey D. Heeter, also known as Jeff, has been Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary at Alcoa Corporation since November 1, 2016. In this role, Mr. Heeter has overall responsibility for Alcoa's legal, compliance and governance matters globally. He serves as a Member of Alcoa's Executive Team. Mr. Heeter served as Assistant General Counsel of Arconic Inc. (formerly, Alcoa Inc.) since 2014 until November 2016 and was responsible for the management and integration of the international legal functions of it in Russia, China, Europe, Australia and Latin America. Mr. Heeter served as Group Counsel for Global Primary Products at Arconic Inc. from 2010 to 2014. He joined Alcoa in 1998 as Associate Counsel in Alcoa's Legal Department in Pittsburgh. Over the course of his Alcoa career, he has served as business unit counsel for several businesses within the Global Primary Products group, including the former Alcoa World Chemicals business and the Alcoa World Alumina-Atlantic refining business. From 2008 to 2010, he served as General Counsel of Alcoa of Australia Limited. He served as an Assistant Officer of Alcoa. He returned to the U.S. in 2010 as Group Counsel for Global Primary Products. In addition to his business unit counseling roles, he has provided legal counsel in the mergers and acquisitions area for transactions across Alcoa's portfolio of businesses. In this capacity, he served as counsel in a variety of acquisition, divestiture and green field development projects, including acquisition of numerous businesses in the closure systems, telecommunications and wheel products businesses, divestiture of the global Alcoa World Chemicals business segment and negotiation of development projects with the governments of Iceland, Ghana and Suriname. Prior to joining Alcoa, he worked for the Pittsburgh law firm Doepken Keevican & Weiss, P.C. as an associate attorney/litigation associate in the litigation group. He worked as a project manager for a rail transportation equipment company in Pittsburgh and completed his JD, cum laude, from Duquesne University in 1995. Mr. Heeter graduated from Penn State University in 1988, with a degree in Quantitative Business Analysis and earned a Master of Business Administration Degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 1989.
