Alcoa Leadership Employee Reviews

What do you like best about the leadership team?

The executive team is very human and approachable compared to other similar size companies I have worked at.

Review from HR Dept

Open, honest, transparent. They are very good.

Review from Finance Dept

Great teams to work with

Communication is strong amongst the team leaders

Hands on, very proactive - personal chaps

Collaborative and trustworthy leaders who are committed to ensuring the company is around for the future.

Review from HR Dept

Principled, down-to-earth and reliable (do what they say they're going to do)

Review from HR Dept

They are always open to frank discussion

Review from Operations Dept

What does the leadership team need to get better at?

Understanding heat stress, and break time.

Treating people like people not machines

Bunch of independent operators. No loyalty to alcoa

leadership lacks vision, they struggle to see beyond 30 days out. leadership is NOT vested in the employees, only their own self interest

Where do I start, Its a long road.. give up on the emperor's new clothes fantasy

Respect, acknowledgement of good quality work & achieving more than the target when everything running smoothly & a lack of equality.

Review from Operations Dept

Stop letting the unions dictate!

Review from Operations Dept

Organization, communication, planning, implementation, fixing broken equipment.

Review from Operations Dept

Give us the tools to do our job efficiently and safely

Review from Operations Dept

Hands on expeirience, upper management has idea what actually goes on,or how processes are executed in day today production. They have no idea of who the people are,who actually work for them. They manage through "Policy" making, and people manipulation.

Review from Product Dept

Management is the worst I've ever seen

Review from Operations Dept

Middle and upper management are in their own little world, HR is terrible, bad managers and engineers are rehired, good people trying to move up are blown off.

Review from Operations Dept

Following through. Planning. Maintenance. Attitude towards employees.training

Review from Operations Dept

Alcoa is a very old fashioned company and that is a good thing in some ways, but it is not great for women, minorities or younger employees.

Stop the micro-managing and use common sense. Develope a better preventative maintenance program. Develope proactive mentality instead of reactive mentalities. It would save millions on maintenance costs.

Review from Operations Dept

Respecting employees, creating a sense of unity. Managers need to be held accountable for their teams and themselves.

Review from Operations Dept

HR Manager "Globle" and Operations Manager, Maintenance had a meeting over pay and classification. She said i made a mistake, what am I suppose to do, call Pittsburg and tell them I made a mistake, hows going to make me look.

Review from Operations Dept

Positive, focus on equal not totals be assertive not aggressive

Review from Operations Dept

They fail to utilize our talent in our company. People are put in leadership based on qoata, not skills. Hiring someone off the street instead of promoting a veteran in house

Review from Product Dept

Managing and not working people to death. The job isn’t hard but nobody deserves to work 64 hours a week.
