It is chaotic at times and very fast paced. There is never enough hours allotted to larger accounts to do your job.
What makes you most happy at work?
The feeling of accomplishment after resets and changeovers.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
I would feel more valued if merchandisers were offered full time positions with health benefits. Or at least offer benefits to part time merchandisers as companies such as Starbucks and WinCo do.
What does the leadership team need to get better at?
Understanding the work load at ground level, in the store. The merchandisers are the most important people in the company working directly with retail management and customers. All upper management should be required to work a large account for at least six months before beginning their mgmt roles.
