In the past, I've considered the customer service to be outstanding.
The rates are so high everyone is cancelling
Listen to me, I have been insured by Amica for 45 years & this is the first time they have been unreasonable about a claim! They want too TOTAL my car for some minor damage! A claim of $4300 for a car that THEY say is only valued @ $5700. I will think about changing all of my $00k insurance !!!!!!!!

Amica has no company outings. Ever. No Christmas parties.

Last year the employees were encouraged to bring in cans of food for local food banks. You also can take one (paid) day off per year to volunteer.

The only real chance of switching from one department to another at Amica is if you work at the Home Office (Lincoln, RI). No chance of switching from one department to another if you work in a branch office.
What is the onboarding process like at Amica Mutual and how long does it last?
This all depends on what office you work in, each office has their own system). Some offices have dedicated trainers who have structured training programs. Other offices have nobody designated to train new employees and they just make it up as they go.
What is the PTO policy at Amica Mutual?
You get a designated # of vacation days and a designated # of sick days, all dependent on how long you’ve been at Amica. The sick/vacation time is set in stone and not negotiable.

Well it was 20 years ago so it’s probably not too relevant.

Usually that is what they do with managers who can’t perform at one branch...send them elsewhere. If you want to move up, realize skill is less of an evaluative factor than whose derrière you have kissed.

One of my coworkers was yelled at by the branch manager who asked her if she remembered something she did on a file 3 months prior. As if she could remember when talking to hundreds of people a month. Right.
