Prof. John A. Quelch, C.B.E., Ph.D., DBA, MBA, MS has been the Charles Edward Wilson Professor of Business Administration at Harvard Business School since January 2013. Prof. Quelch has been Professor in Health Policy and Management at Harvard School of Public Health since January 2013. Prof. Quelch is a Consultant to over fifty leading firms including American Airlines, Apple Computer, AT&T, Coca-Cola, Colgate-Palmolive, Fidelity Investments, General Electric, Gillette, Hoffman LaRoche, Honeywell, IBM, Novartis, Procter & Gamble, Textron and Westinghouse. He has 25 years of service. He was an Assistant Professor, an Associate Professor and a full Professor of Business Administration at Harvard Business School from 1979 to 1998. He joined easyJet PLC in November 2000, at which time he served as Dean of the London Business School from July 1998 to June 2001. Prior to 1998, he served as the Sebastian S. Kresge Professor of Marketing and Co-Chair of the Marketing Area at Harvard Business School. He is an Expert on Global Business Practice in emerging as well as developed Markets, International Marketing and Human Resource Management, the role of the multinational corporation and the nation state and issues at the interface of Business Management, Public Policy and Society. He served as Senior Associate Dean of International Development and Lincoln Filene Professor of Business Administration at Harvard Business School from July 2001 to January 2011. From February 2011 to January 2013, Prof. Quelch served as Dean, Vice President and Distinguished Professor of International Management at the China Europe International Business School in Shanghai. He serves as the Chairman of Advisory Board of SanderMap GmbH. He served as Chairman and Director of Massachusetts Port Authority from 2002 to January 2011. Prof. Quelch serves as Member of Consultant Board at VNN Investment and Trade Joint Stock Company. He has been a Director of Alere Limited and Alere Inc. since March 10, 2003. He serves as a Director at Luvo Inc. He also serves as a Non-Executive Director of the three other listed companies in the US and the UK. He served as a Director of The Pepsi Bottling Group, Inc. from January 28, 2005 to 2010. He served as a Director of Accion International. He served as Trustee of Milestone Capital Management LLC. He is the Author and Co-author of 25 books including The Global Market in 2004, Marketing Management in 2004, Global Marketing Management (4th edition, 1999), Cases in Advertising and Promotion Management (4th Edition, 1996) and The Marketing Challenge of Europe 1992 (2nd edition, 1991). He has published over fifty articles on marketing management and public policy issued in leading journals such as Harvard Business Review, McKinsey Quarterly and Sloan Management Review. In addition, he is widely quoted in business publications such as Business Week, The Economist, Financial Times and The Wall Street Journal and appears regularly on CNN and CNBC. Prof. Quelch holds bachelor's (BA) and master's (MA) degrees at Exeter College from Oxford University, an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, an MS degree from the Harvard School of Public Health and a doctorate DBA from Harvard Business School.
