Horrible management leads to issues. Outside of some great coworkers, and an awesome software team, this place is not worth it.

Asserta Health has a good company vision that fits an important niche. But management, intentionally or not, view culture as a waste of money. They do not invest much time or effort into making employees feel empowered and excited about their work.

Asserta Health is a has a strong vision but a flawed execution. The business strategies can be examined on their own, but effectively every employee below director-level has no job security. You'll never feel comfortable in your job as expectations are never clearly communicated.

Communication. Management only really interacts with employees when they want something done. If you aren't doing things correctly, you won't hear it unless you ask for a raise or repeatedly ask for feedback. They just seem uninterested in helping their employees grow.

Leadership often communicated with an elitist perspective. They are all (generally) very intelligent persons, but this leads to them vocally criticizing the intelligence of some of their front line staff. Without proper communication of expectations, this culture leads to a very toxic environment.

Asserta underpays many of their roles. They often will hire new employees at a higher paygrade than the tenured employees expected to train them. Asserta, in general, does not express appreciation for employee effort. This applies to both monetary and express appreciation.

Asserta has a tendency to under compensate for quite a few positions. As the market value for positions increase, they neglect to reevaluate their staff's wages. This is reflected in that Asserta largely leans on outsourced engineering talent.

Asserta's vision is attractive to empathetic front line employees. This makes for high quality staffing. Unfortunately, that same vision attracts management who value the almighty dollar over those that produce it.

Because of their strong vision, Asserta can attract very well-intentioned frontline staff. People want to be in a fulfilling job where they can be passionate about helping others.

The most positive aspect of culture is the attitudes pf newer employees. It is neat to see staff so engrossed in the vision before the toxicity of the workplace strips that from them.

The most positive part of Asserta's culture is the mood that namely the concierge team brings to the table. They consistently deal with frustrated customers but are quick to recover. Despite the job being hard, these passionate team members make work easier.

Asserta can be slow moving in the interview process. But the larger issue at hand is they often don't seem to know what they are looking for. At one point they hired people with healthcare backgrounds but were finding they carried too much industry baggage. They can't find an archetype that works.
