Axios gets it right. The culture is unbeatable. There is deep commitment to the mission and values, and the people here are genuinely kind. People change jobs for many reasons, but I haven't interacted with anyone who wanted to leave Axios because of the culture or people.
Briefly describe your overall experience at your company
The thing I loved about Axios the most was the culture. With the rapid growth and recent acquisition, the culture is changing. It seems to be a natural phenomenon with the growth, but I was happier before the last ~8 months.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
The way people are treated as whole people.
What is the best part about your compensation package?
I like the mental health days and WFH stipend.

People get to be themselves.

Space for more than just my job. (connection, community, programming, etc.)

Mental health days, holidays (have 3-5 more than most employers), $100 wfh stipend

I love that there are women of color in some of the highest newsroom positions.

I really love the people I work with. The culture is professional, but SO very fun.

They view people as whole people and care for them in a way that reflects that view. It creates an environment with greater empathy and engagement.
What are some of the best things about your team?
The diversity of the people team is outstanding. I don't feel like I have to hide who I am or make myself more palatable to be accepted. Everyone has a place of belonging at Axios.
