I was an early hire and have watched Axios grow over the past 3 years. Its been an incredibly fulfilling experience and I'm a bit shocked (and very pleased) at where I am and where we are as a company.

Smart, ambitious, generous people with good ideas and great attitudes.
What makes you most happy at work?
As a journalist, there's nothing better than that moment when a story comes together and you know you've got it.
What is the best part about your compensation package?
I was preemptively offered a significant salary bump after a couple years as a signal that I was part of the long-term plan.
What did you like most about the interview process?
I was employee number 30-something, so the process has changed a lot. I loved how fast it moved and the interest in my ideas that were actually implemented after I joined.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
Great communication and a style of leadership that works both in generating strong revenue and editorial output but also in making employees feel included and proud to work here. Those feelings have only increased during the pandemic.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
Because it's a start-up there aren't all sorts of bad habits we have to deal with or try to correct over time. It's a young company that welcomes good ideas and is trying to do it right.
