Giving back to the community has always been an important part of the Benefitfocus culture, and when the community is in need, Benefitfocus responds in a big way from disaster relief to donations and helping hands. Through our Benefitfocus Cares program, we provide community support and corporate-direct donations in three focus areas: Strengthening our communities Promoting health and wellness Empowering people through education Additionally, our associates are empowered to support organizations that hold a special place in their heart by donating their time and treasure. Our Benefitfocus Cares program provides matching donations to associates for their monetary donations and volunteer time served throughout the year. Benefitfocus Cares provides support in 3 key areas: Strengthening our communities, promoting health and wellness, and empowering people through education. Each associate is eligible for a $250 match each year to the non-profit of their choice. Since the launch in 2016, the Benefitfocus Fund has supported over 200 organizations. We encourage our associates to take time to give back to the community with opportunities to participate in programs like Meals on Wheels, Reading Partners and Loaves of Fishes as well as mentorships and annual fundraising events for a variety of charities. Benefitfocus enjoys supporting local and intramural sports teams. We provide up to 100 sponsorships per year for teams that our associates play on, coach, or for their child’s team.

    Depends on location. Charleston is probably the most 'chill' location, but it's still telling that they regularly have food trucks or outside vendors come in for the people who don't want to leave for lunch. It's 100% during Open Enrollment/OE.

  • Right now, as working in the office is optional, there's definitely a more healthy work-life balance and I've found that we are encouraged to take breaks as needed. Obviously things can get hectic but they trust us to get our work done without having to stay chained to our desks/computers.

  • A few years ago, the summer celebration giveaway was a Benefitfocus-themed lunch bag. If you're inferring something from that statement, the answer is yes. It's "encouraged" that much, at that level.

  • Benefitfocus calls associates "Customer #1" and it shows. They have a pretty comprehensive package that covers the basics and much more, like financial wellness programs, employee assistance programs, and an Employee Stock Purchase Program
