  • You should be able to add your blog by searching for its full URL (i.e. patrikring.blogg.se) using the Bloglovin search (located at the topof the page).

If Bloglovin' fails to find your blog it might be due to a problem with your blog's RSS feed. See " How do I check if my RSS feed is valid? " for instructions how to check this.

In order for a blog to work with Bloglovin, it will require a valid 2.0 RSS-feed. Without this, Bloglovin will not be able to find your blog's content in order to populate your profile. While we have no control over your RSS feed on our end, you should be able to work with your blog provider to configure this correctly.

Once you have a valid RSS-feed, send us the address, and we can make sure this is correctly integrated with Bloglovin. Once you get a valid RSS feed, we will be able to help you further.

If you still can't add your blog, please contact support and we will help you as soon as possible.

  • RSS - sometimes calledRSS feedor justfeed- is a web format used to find blog posts in an easy and efficient way.

Bloglovin' must have access to your blog's RSS feed to be able to find your posts and display them. Since RSS is a very strict format, everything must be formatted correctly. If one bit is off, Bloglovin' will not be able to find your latest posts.

You can check if your RSS feed is valid with a feed validator.

It's also important that the page URL you're adding to Bloglovin', features the RSS feed within it's code. If you're not sure how to check this, you'll want to work with your blog provider, or whoever helped you with the technical aspects of your blog.

  • Important!

Bloglovin is here to help bloggers, we are not trying to steal your traffic.

You are in total control of what content from your website appears on bloglovin.com

    What is RSS?

RSS stands for "Really Simple Syndication", and is a technology designed to help publishers reach more people.

RSS is a technology on the internet that syndicates your blog posts in a structured way so that other computers can read them easily.

Another way of thinking about it is that web pages are designed to be read by people, RSS is a copy of your website designed to be read by computers.

If you are using a blogging platform, every time you write a post, you are also publishing to your RSS feed (unless you turn it off).

Millions of people then use apps or websites called RSS Readers to read the content that people are publishing.

As a blogger you have total control over this RSS feed, there are typically three easy to use options:

Put my entire blog post into my RSS feed

Put a summary of my blog post into my RSS feed

Do not publish anything to my RSS feed

    How does Bloglovin use RSS?

Every day, Bloglovin reads millions of RSS feeds from all over the internet. When our computers find updates in your RSS feed, we read them and include them on our platform so that our millions of users can easily discover that content. We link directly to your original work and send readers to your website. This is very good for you as a blogger! Bloglovin uses RSS to help you!

Bloglovin uses RSS to help more people discover your blog

Bloglovin uses RSS to help your readers to never miss a post from your blog

Bloglovin uses RSS to send traffic to your website.

What does Bloglovin' do with my content?

Once we discover new content via your RSS feed we incorporate it into our platform in a few different ways.

First, we update your blog's profile page on our platform, this page contains a summary of ever post on your blog.

Next, we create a page on our site where your content lives, this page has a canonical URL pointing to your blog post and ensures that google and others know that you are the creator. You get all the credit for the post. We prominently display your blog's name and URL, and link directly to the original post.

Thirdly, we index your blog post into our search engine to help readers find it. If your RSS feed contains any tags that you added to your post we add those into our search engine too.

Next, we updated everyone's feed who follows your blog to contain a summary of your post that links to your blog.

Most of our users also receive a daily email that contains a list of new posts from blogs they are following, or posts that we think they might like, your post might also appear in these emails.

We also curate the best of the internet into our weekly newsletters, if your post is chosen by our curators millions of people will see your blog post!

Our mobile app users might receive a copy of your post if they follow your blog or if we recommend it to them, the app always links to your website too.

Finally we might start including your post in our recommendations across the platform, we do this based on how the posts are categorized and based on who is reading them. This helps people find your content that otherwise might never see it!

    Is Bloglovin' stealing my traffic?

All RSS readers are reading what you publish and sharing it with people. Those people do not have to visit your website to read your posts.

    Bloglovin is different.

On bloglovin.com, when people click on your post, we send them directly to your blog. As a blogger it's important for you to know that other RSS readers might not be sending you traffic, but bloglovin.com does!

At Bloglovin our mission is to help influencers succeed. If you succeed we succeed, so it is very much in our best interest to help bloggers! Bloglovin sends a ton of traffic to blogs, this is one of our main benefits to bloggers.

Our reading experience is designed so that READER ARE SENT TO YOUR BLOG, they read your posts in the format that you designed, they see any ads that you might have on your page, and your analytics will include them as visitors.

You may see your site appearing underneath our "Bloglovin frame" which we have built to help readers navigate to the other content they love. You are still receiving all the page views inside the frame.

Because we are including the content that you publish via RSS on our platform, it is possible that some people will consume the content directly in bloglovin and not always visit your site. This might happen if they see the title of your post in their feed or elsewhere and decide not to click on it.

When people share posts from bloglovin to social networks, we link those people back to your content on bloglovin.com. This helps people discover our platform and in turn, your blog.

At times we experiment with different ways of displaying content in an attempt to increase the number of visitors that we can send to bloggers.

    What can I do?

If you do not want to be a part of bloglovin you can contact our support team and have your blog removed. This is probably not in your best interest because you will lose the SEO benefits of having our platform linking to your blog, our readers will no longer be informed when you publish new posts, no one will discover your blog through our system, and we will never include your posts in our emails that reach millions of people.

If you don't want a full copy of your blog posts to appear on Bloglovin, you can truncate your RSS feed to include only a summary. Since how this is configured varies between blogging services, for help with updating this, you'll want to work with your blog provider, or whoever helped you with the technical aspects of your blog.
