What's the internship program like at BRD?

While we don't have a formal internship program, we have had a couple of very successful internships. Basically, this means that you and your manager are empowered to build a successful internship plan together.
While we've had 1-2 interns, BRD is not yet in a position to provide a formal internship program. That being said, if you are passionate about creating the next generation of financial institutions, please contact us and let's chat.
While our internship program is informal at this point, we have had a couple very positive experiences for both BRD and interns. We recently had one intern from the University of Chicago conclude a project with our revenue team and currently have a young woman from Fordham focused on market analysis/research and partnerships/sales operations. She is finishing her MBA this December with a focus on statistics and business intelligence. Reach out to us if you are interested in learning more!
What benefits does BRD provide?

For the 50% of BRD that works out of our 4 offices, the dress code as "smart casual." That means lots of BRD T-shirts and whatever makes you comfortable. For the other 50% working from home, please consult your family or roommates for guidance. :)
Casual but we can dress up nicely when the occasion calls for it.
How long after an interview at BRD does it take to hear back?

What makes you the most proud about working at BRD?
This is a passionate, highly collaborative team that supports each other and helps each other succeed. One of our values is "Empowered You >> Stronger Us" and all of the team lives it every day!
What kind of relocation or moving stipends does BRD offer?
BRD is still relatively small and hasn't tackled this issue yet.
What kind of activities do employees at BRD participate in outside of work?
Each office has its own rituals. The SF team has lunch outside the office every Wednesday. Bend has a tradition of BBQs when the weather permits. Chicago team members attend a lot of meetups and represent BRD in the tech and crypto communities.
How are the healthcare options at BRD?
There are two medical PPO options, 2 dental plans, and 1 vision plan. United Healthcare has the largest medical network across the US, so it's a great option for our distributed team.
What is the best advice you could give someone during their first month at BRD?
Reach out and make connections in other departments besides your own! The company is improving the new hire orientation process but make sure to let your manager, HR, or IT know if you need more information and/or resources to excel at your new job.
How's the work life balance at BRD?
Great! Unlimited PTO makes it easy to balance family with work.

Work is very fast paced and you're expected to deliver and quickly.
What are your coworkers at BRD like?
Great nice people with a really diverse set of backgrounds. Most people are mid or senior level, so everyone is coming to the table with a high degree of proficiency at their skills.

What's the interview process like at BRD?
Friendly, getting to know you interviews. Exercises are quite reasonable, I spent about a day on them and they truly were 'no right or wrong answer'. It allowed for a lot of creativity.

Yes on background checks; No on drug testing.
Background and reference checking is conducted on all employees, interns, contractors and consultants. BRD does not drug test.
