When the pandemic hit I was let go with no notice. Other full time staff was moved to carside, but I was told that there weren't enough positions for me to help on that side. Some of my coworkers would brag about making $400-$500 a day on carside, I lost my apartment and had to move into a shelter.
What does the leadership team need to get better at?
Warning people about drastic schedule changes ahead of time, especially full time employees that depend on the pay
What would you improve about your company's interview process?
They should've been honest with me that I wouldn't have a job anymore in the event of a pandemic
What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
This company is overpriced and every day I was there I noticed less satisfied customers. Amidst the pandemic I think expensive pasta just didn't make sense to a lot of people
What needs to change to make the company culture better?
Get to know your employees needs, make sure that all employees are being treated equally and that one person isn't consistently being put in a better position to make more money than another
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
I didn't receive any benefits, and it was obvious that I was not an important member of staff by how I wasn't offered another position during the pandemic, I was just taken off the schedule completely.
What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better?
Frequently the servers there would not even pick up their own food and other servers would have to run it for them. The division of labor made no sense. You would have one server with 5 tables making so much money, and another with maybe 1 table at a time picking up the slack for less pay
