Since I have started working for Carrabba's, I have been harassed, disrespected, called names on a regular basis, made to feel unsafe, and talking to any of managers has not helped. One manager told me that I can walk out if I'm upset, but I'd be fired.
What needs to change to make the company culture better?
Management needs to change, as does the kitchen staff and the attitude in the front of the house.
What does the leadership team need to get better at?
Listening to employees. Letting people go home when they arent making money. Standing up for their employees when they're being harassed.
What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
I feel afraid to go to work because I am constantly harassed. I honestly feel like at any moment I'll have to defend myself from my coworkers either verbally or physically.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
Right now I leave work with maybe 50 or 60 dollars a night, as opposed to the 200 a night I was used to making as a server before all of this craziness started. If there was an automatically applied gratuity, or if I made a decent hourly on top of my tips, it would be a lot more reasonable.
