They are good listeners abd i kniw many things sre beyond their control.
Their honesty and efforts to keep everyone informed.
They do an excellent job of doing what's best for the business AND what's best for employees. They've done an excellent job doing of being competitive and profitable in a tough, constantly evolving industry and through challenging times. Fully supporting of employees going virtual-first.
The support given to you and encouragement
They are in touch with the employees; not some distant group who never interacts
executing strong ideas; creating revenue growth
Don't make so many poorly informed decisions without involving the folks that really understand the business and get the work done.
It seems much of the decision is top down with very little consultation with the internal members of teams. I have seen 6 major reorgs in my my 6 years with the company, many of which did not pan out as expected and resulted in walking back of changes.
Operating from a place of truth and honesty. Reality.
Communicating clearly and directly to employees without pretense. They need to drop their flair for propaganda and be more direct and open.
Bonus structure is pretty good
My salary is competitive for my career/field and the opportunity to earn a bonus every year is great - but the bonuses could be bigger. There's barely any differentiation for top performers vs the rest.
The benefits from health care to wellness days and beyond are terrific
I get paid fairly for my title and also separate sick and vacation time, the maternity leave is amazing and so is the grievance policy.
Incentive Program ties chunk of compensation to performance as it should be.
Base salary is much lower than industry standards and does not equate to cost of living in a very high COL area.
Content folks are generally underpaid.
The only way to move up in pay at this company i jump from position to position. Internal promotions are not common and opportunities are slim as we are in a period of eliminating positions.
Cengage pay is bottom-barrel. Whether it be sales, tech, editorial or anything in between, you will be paid tens of thousands of dollars less than the industry standard. Family-related leave is great, but balanced by the VERY poor and expensive health plan available.
Base compensation and benefits are below average for industry. Little opportunity to advance, and no bonuses unless you're in sales.
Enthusiastic - all pretty young - i feel they are using this job to get to the next. No longevity.
Committed, intelligent, experienced, customer focused
We're all very open and supportive of one another. We value each others differences and I believe everyone feels safe and comfortable being their authentic selves at work. When you're comfortable being yourself, everything else is so much better. We also push each other to be better every day.
They are smart and professional and also inclusive and kind. They are leaders with a strong sense of curiosity
Supportive, smart, energetic, creative, like-minded, mission-oriented, competitive
Too many meetings. Too little ownership.
Our products - but we have priced them beyond the reach of most customers in my market.
The people who work here REALLY want to work here - they believe wholeheartedly in what we do (empower learners globally). I always have opportunities to learn new things and I think that's what sets us apart - learning, growth, and development are front and center here.
People listen and are very respectful even when they disagree.
My regional team team. Coworkers are supportive and always willing to help. Culture on a national scale is a bit more challenging because of the disconnect across silos and some departments.
We are finally making a profit after a bankruptcy reorg.
There are positives to the work environment (mainly co-workers) but overall the tension over layoffs is so great it is impossible to feel good working here. Very frustrating!
Great to meet future coworkers
Getting to meet so many members of the team. Through the various rounds of the process I got to meet and interview with a recruiter, my hiring manager, my next-level manager, and the leader of an adjacent team. They all offered their own perspectives on the role and its impact for the team.
Meeting with a variety of people
Each person on the interview team exhibited a clear understanding of company strategy, and an appreciation for the strong company culture.
Meeting with potential team members and completing / presenting a protect that was similar to what I would be doing out in the field if hired.

The big sale and wgen we can get together and share/collaborate.
Product development, customer focus, and more
The people, the culture and the amazing CEO who is a wonderful leader and role model
The diligence and productive effort of my colleagues.
The people I work with and the work that I do.
Merger and insufficient technology. Invest in a solid tech team if you want to be seen as a legitimate and progressive technology company. Find solutions to stay competitive in a challenging Ed tech market.
I feel like I am not being given the opportunity to raise up, I am not being tapped to my full potential
More bottom up decision making - everything comes as a directive.
We try to really solve customer problems day in and day out.
Our tech dept makes bad decisions bc they don’t trust product.
