  • There has been a change to unlimited vacation for associates at Cerner levels. Your vacation must be approved by your direct manager.

  • They say that it is important to use your vacation but the managers make it difficult to use them. Most employees start with two weeks of PTO so it is all combined with sick and vacation time. 40 hours carryover to the new year but don't build up to much time because you are given a hard time if you try to use more then two weeks for vacation.

  • Mostly homegrown neophytes who have never worked in other corporate environments. The attrition of senior-level associates is high, which allows the neophytes to continue the poor business practices they have been taught by more senior neophytes. The attitude that Neal has instilled in the company where you don't have to know anything about a topic to make it successful may have worked as a startup, but that way of thinking doesn't scale without building your own mindless army right out of college.
