They fire you ASAP. It won’t be labeled as such. It’ll be laid off, riffed due to restructuring, something benign. But if you have an issue, usually with a manager above you, the manager gets to stay and you go. Even if you’re getting harassed. Even if you are more valuable to the company. Doesn’t matter. HR circles the wagons around their younger, business-process obsessed managers. Keep your head down and save your money. CGI doesn’t have your back.

  • Be very careful. HR works for the company first, and you second. This is normal and this is fine. To the point of the other reviewer, the company is more likely to side against the accuser when issues arise. Be very very careful going to HR. Do not expect the company or management to have your back.

  • My team worked in a keycard access room so we were pretty much left alone to do our work. A great team of people. We had a great time together.

  • Frenetic. But I dug it. I could get into a zone and power through all my work while the buzz around me got tuned out. We all got along well too.

  • We never thought about the CEO or the upper management. They never thought about us either.

  • Good. Two weeks a year.

  • One of the things that I liked about CGI was the liberal vacation time. 15 days off per year, earned one paycheck at a time, but one could use ahead and make up the shortfall in vacation hours. And there was no real issue with my team about scheduling the time.

  • You are hired for a certain skillset. They will use that set wherever they think it best fits their overall plans. But in my two years with the company, I was on one team in one place, with one goal. When it was decided they had used me up, I was let go. If there had been other positions that my skills would require, they would let me apply. Otherwise, nothing.
