Does Cook Medical have any remote positions?
Sales representative positions are mobile, and sales reps operate all around the US.
How does Cook Medical make decisions around promotions?
It mostly comes down to length of employment and how well someone "meshes" with the rest of the team. It doesn't seem to consider technical or managerial ability, which can create friction when more competent employees have to defer to less competent managers, or when poor managers mismanage their groups and cause issues.
How's the vacation policy at Cook Medical?
My knowledge of Cook's vacation policy only covers salaried employees; I don't know how fair or unfair the hourly employee vacation policy is. Sick days are paid and they are lenient as long as you don't abuse the system. PTO is the standard or higher than other similar companies. However, Cook does not have as many paid holidays (only the six federally mandated ones plus the Friday after Thanksgiving) as other similar companies.
What benefits does Cook Medical provide?
Above-average health & life insurance and access to a company-run clinic and pharmacy (that you must use for general health and prescriptions if you live in Monroe County). No other major benefits (no company car, company phone, free lunches, etc.) for the average employee.
