The culture changed a lot once the outsourcing of manufacturing became know. Stability in the work environment.

Very good health benefits. Solid 401K and bonus I retired in 2013

Professional and motivated. I retired in 2013.

The working relationship within the operations group. The improvement to human life because of the product that was made there.

Normal Corp. America pace. If it wasn't for the additional commute time it would be fine.

During my time at Boston (2005-2013) the pace was quick and most people pulling there load.

Operations had a good core of managers. Hard working and very much part of the team. The last two years has become harder to talk openly. Groups becoming more territorial and less open.
How do you feel about going to work at Boston Scientific everyday?
Good people to work with. Most of which I had worked with for (8) years and started when part of the Advance Bionics group.
How difficult is it to maintain a social life while in your job at Boston Scientific?
Hard to difficult outside of the office friendships. With nine + hours at work and then facing an hour commute both ways it didn't leave much time to do much else.
How challenged are you at Boston Scientific?
Very good opportunity to advance and move within the organization.
What kind of people succeed at Boston Scientific?
Early on it was based on productivity and measured accomplishments. The last two years became more & more political ........ who you knew, not what you knew or did.
What are the team outings like at Boston Scientific?
Nice but very structured as the years went by. Worked to keep peopled informed and reward those people who worked to refine & control cost of the products.
What's one thing you wish you'd known before joining Boston Scientific?
That they would move the Operations (manufacturing) offshore.
How's the morale at Boston Scientific?
It has been 4+ years sense I worked at BSN and don't believe I can speak to how the morale is there currently.

Based in the Los Angeles area there was a wide diverse ethic population.
What's the office layout like at Boston Scientific?
Very much open area's. Cubical layout for the most part. Only Director & above would have offices with doors.
What unique perks and benefits does Boston Scientific provide?
They were a large corporation that had many other divisions to move to for job opportunities. Had a growing presence in the Pacific Rim Operations expanse. With a great presence in FDA controlled industries, staying in America was a priority vs. the trend of moving offshore because of labor cost savings.
