The most positive aspect about the culture is the others crisis text line employees.
The community of Crisis Text Line volunteers is amazing. The chats provided in the system have been a wonderful way to allow engagement among personal of all levels.
Expansion of this company has benefited the needs of texters. However, it has come with a cost for volunteers. The governing committees of the organization seem to be morphing slowly into a Rubber Stamp, Micromanaging Boards, and Balkanized Boards.
Communication between formal employees and crisis counselors. Email, text platform and forum are only forms of communication to volunteers. Certain Questions in email to leadership go unanswered. Decisions are one sided. Both parties involved should be regarded before making a final decision.
I felt undervalued by the way supervisors seemed to provide feedback in a detached manner than they did in the beginning. I was flagged several times and notified via email when only provided by one party. Further, perks that provided some form of rewards, were taken away.
