Mr. Edmond L. Harris, also known as Ed, has been Executive Vice President of Operations at CSX Corporation since January 8, 2018. Mr. Harris is responsible for mechanical, engineering, transportation and network operations. Mr. Harris has more than 40 years' experience in the railroad industry in an operating capacity, including nearly two decades at the Illinois Central and Canadian National (CN). Mr. Harris served as Executive Vice President of Operations until his retirement from CN. Mr. Harris also consulted with Rio Tinto in Australia and Cosan Industries in Brazil. He has track record of improving productivity, service, and safety at North American railways. He has been the Chairman and Director at OmniTRAX, Inc. since February 2016 and May 27, 2014 respectively. He serves as Director at A & B Rail Services. He served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Canadian Pacific Railway Limited and Canadian Pacific Railway Company from April 6, 2010 to April 1, 2011. He served as an Executive Vice-President of Operations at Canadian National Railway Company from March 8, 2005 to January 31, 2007 and as its Senior Vice President of Operations from July 1, 2003 to March 8, 2005. He joined CN's executive council. He served as Chief Transportation Officer at Canadian National Railway from 2001 to 2003. Prior to that, Mr. Harris served as Vice-President, Midwest Division, following Canadian National Railway's acquisition of Illinois Central Corporation (IC) since July 1999. He served as Vice President of Operations for IC since 1998 and also served as its General Manager, Northern Region. From 1994 to 1997, Mr. Harris served as the General Manager of Southern Region at IC. He joined IC in 1968 and held positions of increasing responsibility in communications, materials control and transportation and also served as its Acting Executive Director, Labour Relations since 1992. His IC service was interrupted by a four-year tour of duty in United States Marine Corps 1969 to 1973. Mr. Harris has been a Rail Operations Consultant and Independent Contractor. He served as a Member of Advisory Board at Global Infrastructure Partners. He served as Director of Canadian Pacific Railway Limited from December 2011 to May 17, 2012. He served as Board Director for Universal Rail Services. He served as Director of Canadian Pacific Railway Company from December 15, 2011 to May 17, 2012. Mr. Harris holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from the University of Illinois, Chicago.
