Our research-based, award-winning print and digital instruction and assessment products provide educators with the tools necessary to personalize learning for every student and help all students become college and career ready.
On a Mission to Improve Teaching and Learning We were founded by a group of passionate educators with a mission to make classrooms better places. For more than 50 years we have held tight to that mission, ensuring every decision and tool we make supports the educators and students we serve. Our people-first commitment to service extends to our stakeholders at every level, from the passionate employees within our organization to the communities in which we operate.
Curriculum Associates has established sustainability programs to better protect and rejuvenate the environment. Our corporate initiatives include Electric Vehicle Charging stations at our headquarter facilities, and commuter benefits to encourage and support employees who use public transportation.
Additionally, we’ve created the Green Team, an employee-led affinity group dedicated to educating and encouraging employees to be green. This includes a cross-functional team that exchanges ideas and best practices, a company vegetable garden, a battery and cartridge recycling program, and an ongoing promotion of policies to reduce, reuse, and recycle. Our Green Team is constantly looking for new opportunities to add to these initiatives.
Curriculum Associates chose a new capital partnership to ensure its continued work supporting students and educators. The completion of this transaction resulted in proceeds of approximately $200 million to charity, representing the largest gifts ever received by the Iowa State University Foundation and the Boston Foundation in their combined 187-year histories.
For nearly 50 years, Curriculum Associates has operated as a deeply philanthropic company, and these historic gifts uphold its founding commitment to service and improving the world of education. To sustain its commitment to the nation's classrooms, the company's leadership team chose a partner whose vision aligned with its mission. The support of Berkshire Partners will ensure Curriculum Associates' continued growth and expand its ability to provide students with tools to support their success.

To meet the needs of students and educators across the country in light of school closures due to the pandemic, Curriculum Associates gave away its digital i-Ready Instruction program to nearly 2 million students for free. In addition, they also developed hundreds of free, downloadable reading and math activity packs in English and Spanish to keep K-8 students learning even if they didn’t have reliable internet access. The company continues to add to these free instructional offerings and has posted free teacher guides as well.
