Amar Desai M.D. — President of California Coastal Region at DaVita

Dr. Amar Desai, MD, has been the President of California Coastal Region at DaVita HealthCare Partners Inc. since June 13, 2016. Dr. Desai served as Vice President of Clinical Operations and Medical Affairs at Paladina Health, LLC. He serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and treats patients at the West Los Angeles VA Health System. He served as the Chief Executive Officer of the University of Southern California (USC) Medical Group and Ambulatory Services. He serves as an Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine at Keck School of Medicine at USC. He has published papers on health policy, quality improvement and health information technology in numerous peer-reviewed journals. He was appointed Adjunct Clinical Instructor at the Stanford School of Medicine. Dr. Desai received his BA in Public Policy from Brown University, MD from Brown Medical School and Masters in Public Health from Harvard University. He completed his residency and fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco, before becoming a Fellow in the Center for Health Policy and Primary Care Outcomes Research at Stanford University.
