Andrea Fischer Newman — Senior Vice President of Government Affairs at Delta Air Lines

Ms. Andrea Fischer Newman has been the Senior Vice President of Government Affairs at Delta Air Lines, Inc. since October 2008. Ms. Newman has responsibility for Delta's international, federal, state and local government affairs. She served as Senior Vice President of Government Affairs at Northwest Airlines, Inc. since February 2001. She had the responsibility for Northwest Airlines Corp.'s international, federal, state and local government affairs. Ms. Newman served as an Senior Vice President of Government Affairs at Northwest Airlines Corp. from February 2001 to October 2008. She served as Vice President of State and Local Affairs for Northwest Airlines, Inc. She served as a Senior Partner of Detroit law firm of Miller, Canfield, Paddock and Stone. Ms. Newman was with the Department of Defense as Special Counsel to Assistant Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Logistics, White House as Deputy Assistant to then Vice President George Bush and Washington, D.C. law firm of Patton, Boggs. Ms. Newman is an elected member of the Board of Regents of the University of Michigan. She serves on the Board of the American Council of Young Political Leaders (ACYPL) and as a Vice President of the Detroit Economic Club and is a member of the Knight Foundation Commission on Intercollegiate Athletics. She also serves as a member of the Industry Affairs Committee of the International Air Transport Association (IATA). Ms. Newman is a 1983 graduate of the George Washington University National Law Center, and an honors graduate of the University of Michigan (1979).
