Mr. Matthew Knopf has been Senior Vice President and Deputy General Counsel at Delta Air Lines, Inc. since February 26, 2016. Mr. Knopf served as a Partner of Dorsey & Whitney LLP. He served as Senior Vice President and General Counsel of CSS Trade Names, Inc. He joined Delta from the international law firm of Dorsey & Whitney in Minneapolis, where he was a partner in the Corporate Group and led Dorsey's firm-wide Mergers and Acquisitions practice, concentrating in the areas of mergers and acquisitions involving publicly and privately held companies, private equity acquisition and divestiture transactions and strategic joint ventures and alliances. He also regularly advised companies on corporate governance and SEC matters. His primary areas of responsibility within the Law Department at Delta include corporate transactions, M&A and strategic alliances, SEC reporting and corporate governance, marketing transactions, financing matters and aircraft transactions. He has repeatedly been named one of 'America's Leading Business Lawyers' by Chambers USA and a 'Minnesota Super Lawyer'. He serves as a Trustee on the Walker Art Center Board of Trustees and previously was a member of the Board of Directors of the Minnetonka Center for the Arts. He received his undergraduate degree from Stony Brook University in New York, summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, and his J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School.
