Steve Dickson — Senior Vice President of Flight Operations at Delta Air Lines

Captain Steve Dickson serves as Senior Vice President of Flight Operations at Delta Air Lines, Inc. Captain Dickson's responsibilities include overseeing Delta's day-to-day flight operations on six continents, as well as Delta's pilot training, pilot standards, technical support, pilot staffing and scheduling, and quality assurance/compliance functions. He also provides leadership and direction to Delta's 11,000 pilot group. He was an USAF Officer and F-15 Fighter Pilot. A 23-year Delta veteran, he has served in a variety of leadership positions of increasing responsibility. In 2005, he was promoted to Director of Flight Operations, and he assumed his current responsibilities in September 2006. He is also qualified and flies the line as an A320 Captain and has also flown the B727, B737, B757 and B767 during his career at Delta. He is a Member of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Operations Committee and Airlines for America (A4A) Operations Council. In these and other industry roles, he has continued to be a Strong Advocate for Safety Management Systems and improvements to National Airspace System, specifically NextGen. He served as the Chairman of two Federal Advisory Committees ' the Air Traffic Management Advisory Committee (ATMAC) and the NextGen Implementation Task Force, commonly known in industry circles as 'Task Force 5.' He serves as the Industry Co-Chairman of the RTCA NextGen Advisory Committee Working Subcommittee. He is also a distinguished graduate of the United States Air Force Academy and a magna cum laude graduate of the Georgia State University College of Law.
