What do you like best about the leadership team?

Leadership Reviews

Tim Collins, EIS President, was also the founder of the company. He cares deeply for the company's success.

I've always felt as though the leadership team is open to ideas and is looking for ways to improve - both the business and the experiences of those working at EIS.

Sincerely support team spirit and they are excellent company leaders.

Company is making positive changes towards being a more agile workplace, both technically and in practice. Some long-timers have shifted out, allowing more constructive and modern thinking. Overall, leadership team is open to learning.

What does the leadership team need to get better at?

Leadership Reviews

My leader was a chief editor and she rode the coat tails of her staff. She would tell here staff one thing, but stab them in the back or take credit for their accomplishments without proper recognition.

Diversity in the workforce, particularly executive team

What is the best part about your compensation package?

Compensation Reviews

Good health, dental, vision coverage.

The profit sharing program has yielded great results for many years.

Annual increases and bonuses are fair and reasonable.

In recent years there has been a concerted effort to match EIS salaries with the market.

Compensation reflects location, which is a far suburb of Boston. Moving up internally is encouraged, but compensation needs to be more competitive for people to keep people around.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

Compensation Reviews

Pay more and take care of your employees. Diversity is just a number to this company. Nepotism and bias is so prevalent in this company.

More transparency in how we manage compensation.

What are some of the best things about your team?

Team Reviews

open communication is highly encouraged

My team members genuinely care about me as a person. We are friends as well as coworkers.

We care about one another as people. We're welcome to share ideas and try new things.

EIS employees are great! Hard-working, friendly, and always willing to help.

We have open and sincere communication with effective results.

What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better?

Team Reviews

Colleagues are so afraid to speak up for fear of repercussions. The leadership loves this because they can maintain autocratic control.

What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?

Environment Reviews

employees are allowed to work 100% remotely, but can come to the office if they like

Employees are allowed to work remotely but we can come into the office if we prefer. It's great to have the option.

Great training opportunities and concern for career development.

I have flexibility in setting priorities, working remotely or onsite, and my manager understands that I have family obligations as well.

Work/life balance is encouraged. No one is expected to work weekends. People are friendly and genuinely care about one another.

What needs to change to make the company culture better?

Environment Reviews

They need to invest, listen, and hear their employees. Stop laying off employees due to inept management.

What did you like most about the interview process?

Interviews Reviews

They said they would get back to me when there was a new opportunity, and they did!

The hiring manager was very clear about the process and next steps.

I was invited to meet with multiple people and ask them questions about working at EBSCO.

Met with a lot of people, all who I ended up working with. It was good to get a real impression of what it would be like.

The great team that I get to work with everyday

What's going wrong and how can it be improved?

Outlook Reviews

Invest in your employees, especially women. Listen and engage staff in solutions to problems. STOP the top down, micromanagement approach.
