Mr. Thomas W. R. Handley, also known as Tom, has been the President and Chief Operating Officer of Ecolab Inc. since September 20, 2012. Mr. Handley is responsible for providing leadership, management and strategic counsel for seven of Ecolab's eight business sectors. He has more than 25 years of profit and loss (P&L) leadership experience in global business environments, including businesses in Asia, Mexico and Latin America. He served as Senior Executive Vice President and President of Global Food & Beverage and Asia Pacific Latin America of Ecolab Inc. from October 2011 to August 2012. He served as the President of Global Food & Beverage and APLA Sectors at Ecolab Inc. from January 2011 to September 2011 and served as its Unit President since December 2007. He served as the President of Global Food & Beverage at Ecolab Inc. from September 2009 to December 2010. He served as the President of North America Industrial & Services Sector at Ecolab Inc. from December 2007 to August 2009. He also held a variety of marketing, strategic planning and general management roles, including assignments in consumer products and foodservice businesses. He served as an Executive Vice President of Specialty Sector at Ecolab Inc. from January 2004 to November 2007. Prior to joining Ecolab in August 2003 as Senior Vice President of Strategic Planning, he served at Procter & Gamble Company for 22 years in various management, marketing and executive positions including assignments in Japan and Mexico. He served as Vice President of Feminine Care Strategic Planning Planning and Global Marketing at Procter & Gamble. He served as Vice President and General Manager for Procter & Gamble's paper products business in Japan and Korea. He began his business career in managing restaurants for Six Flags in Los Angeles. He serves as the Chairman of the Ordway Center for Performing Arts. He has been an Independent Director of Republic Services, Inc. since July 27, 2016. He has been a Director of Ordway Center For The Performing Arts since July 21, 2016. He has been an Independent Director of H.B. Fuller Company since July 01, 2010. He serves as a Director of National Association of Manufacturers, the Twin Cities Area Chapter of the American Red Cross, the Ecolab Foundation and the St. Paul Arts Partnership. Mr. Handley received a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Claremont-McKenna College and has an MBA from the University of Chicago.
