Dr. Jan M. Lundberg, Ph.D., has been the President of Lilly Research Laboratories and Executive Vice President of Science and Technology at Eli Lilly and Company since January 2010. Dr. Lundberg served as an Executive Vice President and Head of Discovery Research at AstraZeneca PLC since 2002 until January 2010. He served as the Head of Preclinical Affairs of Astra AB, with responsibilities for Discovery build up of enabling technologies, project co-ordination and evaluation. He Co-Founded Aerocrine AB (publ) in 1997. He served as the Head of Preclinical Affairs at AstraZeneca AB. He was a Professor at the Department of Pharmacology at the Karolinska Institute before joining Astra AB. He serves as a Member of Board of Director at BioCrossroads and Biotechnology Industry Organization. He has been a Member of the Swedish Medical Research Council and also of the Advisory Board for Drug Approvals at the Swedish Medical Product Agency. In January 2003, he was appointed an Honorary Director of Pharmacy at Uppsala University. He has published more than 500 scientific articles, mainly related to mechanisms of cell signaling in the nervous-, cardiovascular-, and respiratory systems. He has won a variety of research awards and he is a highly cited author on www.isihighlycited.com in the areas of Biology and Biochemistry, Pharmacology and Neuroscience. He has an extensive research experience. Dr. Lundberg has a Medical education from University of Gothenburg.
