How's the vacation policy at Equinix?
Standard PTO policy (15 days in a year for the first 2 years)
It's tiered like at many companies. You started with 15 days a year and make your way to 25 with a max of 2 monthly accrued.
How helpful was your Engineering team when you were first hired at Equinix?
It depends again on the team you work for. Generally, Equinix engineering teams are laidback and you would get enough time for ramp up.
What's the work from home policy like at Equinix?
It depends on the manager you report to.
Does Equinix drug test or do a background check?
They do a background check but not a drug test as far as I am aware of.

If you're in Sales, fantastic. Otherwise, they are lackluster.

Too systematically. They need to start looking st potential of what you can do rather than what you've done.
What would cause you to leave your job at Equinix?
$$$$ or an opportunity to move departments easier.
How common is it to switch departments or teams at Equinix?
It's pretty common, but for me personally it's been tough. Equinix doesn't believe their employees can do anything they put their mind too. They expect you to move down or sideways to switch departments rather than up and diagnolly. They need to realize that young professionals can learn and master any task if given the chance. An MBA and 12 years of experience is not needed for most opportunity.
How difficult is it to maintain a social life while in your job at Equinix?
Super easy.
How rewarding is your job at Equinix?
On a scale of 1/10, a 3 or 4.
How do you feel about going to work at Equinix everyday?
Some days it's good, others days it's not. We're too systematic in someways so it's hard to feel like you're moving forward each day or week when you're not challenged.
How's the feedback proccess at Equinix?
You have a 1x1 with your direct manager every two weeks. Emailing top execs about issues has also gotten some good responses when you have feedback on business improvements etc etc. sadly some VPs will talk through managers and directors instead of directly to you.
What kind of people succeed at Equinix?
I still haven't figured that out yet. Sadly, it's a wait your turn kind of environment. Ambition has only gotten me so far, but there seems to be opportunity if the hiring managers open their mind and not look down on young, smart, ambitious professionals.
How can I improve my chances of being hired at Equinix?
Really read into the job descriptions. Do some research on the data center market and real estate market and really understand what Equinix does.

Very.
What's the best part of your job at Equinix?
Most of the people are a delight to work with and there are a lot of opportunities around.
How do you feel about Equinix's future?
Equinix has a great hold on the market. I feel we could learn to embrace more ambitious ideas and mindsets. We're not a company who wants to change the world at a quick pace. We always wait for a competitor to take action before we can embrace some modern philosophies regarding culture, benefits, and development.

Depends on your department. Some are slammed working 12 hour days, others only need 6 hours it seems.
