Mr. John C. Kim has been the President of Homeaway at Expedia Inc. since November 23, 2016. Mr. Kim served as Vice President of Product Management & Marketing at Pelago, Inc. Mr. Kim served as Vice President of Advertising Products of Pelago, Inc., since August 2008. Prior to joining HomeAway in 2016, he served as the Chief Product Officer for Expedia, where he led the overall global product development efforts for Expedia, Orbitz, Travelocity, Wotif, AirAsiaGo brands and end-to-end Hotel, Air, Car and Activities supplier systems. Mr. Kim was charged with managing the monetization strategy of Whrrl's unique community-engagement model for retailers, local advertisers and other business partners. He served as Vice President of Product Management & Product Marketing at Medio Systems Inc. since August 23, 2007. He served at Yahoo! Search Marketing, where he held the position of Senior Director of Strategic and Product Marketing. During his career, he has held executive positions at Expedia, Pelago, Medio, Yahoo!, Accenture and Bank of America. Mr. Kim led a unified offering strategy designed for Yahoo!'s search marketing products into a more coherent, compelling offering. While at Yahoo!, he also served as a White House appointee who advised the President on increasing the level of Asian American and Pacific Islander small business contribution to the national economy. Mr. Kim originally joined Yahoo! as part of the Overture Services acquisition, where he served as Director of Marketing. Prior to this, he served as a Strategy Consultant of Accenture, where he advised executives at leading high-tech companies on potential new ventures and growth strategies. Prior to that, he held various marketing and product positions with Bank of America and Household International, Inc., now part of HSBC. He has 15 years of experience building and marketing high-growth new media products and businesses. He is a seasoned and accomplished product and marketing executive with over 20 years of digital media expertise. Mr. Kim received a BA in Economics from University of California, Santa Barbara and an MBA from the University of Chicago.
