Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
1: Five guys had always been paying above minimum wage by a very decent margin for many years before say 2015. Since then, they have been floating above if not directly on minimum wage in state to state and giving absolutely no chance of raises, no matter how long you worked there. Suffocation.

The coworkers and my managers are people, they are not to blame for the price gouging done by corporate. The people you see day to day are not be be blamed, but those who you cannot see.

Because of how absurd things are set up, many who work directly on line do their job, but do not care other than that. They speak on what they wish to and no matter what customers may be within the store. This is not because we don’t care about them, it’s because those above do not care of

They need to care more about the employees and retention than an unrealistic 22% all in labor cost. Which included salaried managers.

The corporate culture is toxic from the top down. Instead of building growth through good will and treating employees fairly, leadership is arrogant and doesn't care about its people at all. Gordon Ramsay is a better person and leader than any of the Five Guys team.

My manager interviewing me was very chill about it and didn't make me feel uncomfortable

Have to wait up to 1-2 hours just for a manager to be ready. I.e. not proper shift management because of lack of staff.

A more positive corporate culture would help. More in-person training is needed, not just sticking someone in front of a computer. How am I supposed to learn how to "correctly" pre-cook fries from a video?
